Choose the host role

A recording host also provides its own camera view. A dedicated controller focuses on control and viewing without recording. With a dedicated controller, use 1 controller and 1–5 cameras: 2–6 phones in total.

Request only the camera you need

Video stays on each camera by default. When you actively select a camera on the dedicated controller, its replay is sent temporarily over the current LAN for viewing. It is not uploaded to FanEye cloud servers.

Pause and resume together

When every participating phone runs a version supporting pause and stays connected, the host can pause the cameras for a break and resume the match. Camera numbers help you keep track of each angle, and it is easier to return to your court and role after an unexpected exit.

Use a stable local network

All phones must share the same stable LAN with adequate Wi-Fi coverage. Keep FanEye in the foreground. One Professional court per stable LAN is the recommended starting setup; test at the actual venue.

Local does not mean all services are offline

Discovery, local control and requested replay transfer use the LAN. Purchases, restores and subscription checks may still need internet access and Apple services.

Only the host needs Professional

Camera phones do not need to purchase or sign in to an Apple account to participate. An additional phone cannot join a full six-phone court. Actual quality and responsiveness depend on the phones and venue network.

Keep one phone for control and let the others record. These Professional app screens show where to choose your controller and check that the cameras have joined.

Replay is a reference, not an automatic verdict.

FanEye does not automatically detect the shuttle landing or decide IN or OUT. Players or officials review the footage. Device, lighting and network conditions matter.
